Frye-day

IMG_2478

I have a confession to make: I’m addicted to Frye boots. I bought my first pair of the classic harness boot almost 10 years ago, and they’re the boot that keeps on giving. In the interest of full disclosure, I am not receiving any kickback, sponsorship or free products for my love of the Frye brand. Nope. I just want to share my love of this brand with you and explain to you how investing in a great, classic boot can go a long way.

As Erin and I have discussed before, cost per wear is very important to us. Well, if you were to total the innumerable times I’ve worn my few pairs of Frye boots, and compare that sum to the cost, they have completely exceeded expectations. Obviously I don’t expect all of you to run out and buy Frye boots this weekend, but in contrast to repeatedly buying “fast fashion” boots on clearance, a well made riding boot will last you significantly longer and may very well cost less over the long haul. Readers, here’s some of the best tips I can give you: invest in a good boot, become best friends with your local shoe repair shop, and you can make a quality boot last for a very, very long time, as I have.

Great article! I took your advice a few months ago and finally got myself a pair of (BEAUTIFUL) Frye boots of my own. I took them to Nob Hill Shoe Repair on NW 21st to have traction soles put on them and they did a wonderful job! I would highly recommend this local cobbler for any Frye repair/maintenance. (And I promise they didn’t pay me to say that.)

      Hi Aly,
That’s awesome, I love to hear that. What kind of Frye’s did you get? Nob Hill Shoe Repair is my cobbler of choice as well. They do fantastic work and are always super friendly. They’re the only shoe repair place where I trust that my precious Fryes are in good hands.
